No one is more upset than me. I’m trying to get things restructured, including moving the hosting of this to github pages. Marketing isn’t exactly a skillset of mine, so I’m going to regroup and relaunch the campaign at a later date. There’s a couple of other contributing factors as well, which I’ll detail later.
That said, Steven is still going to provide artwork for the final project when we’re ready.

Indiegogo Campaign is Live!

Update: On second thought, we’re going to hold off for the time being. The Player’s Guide, Explorer’s Guide, and Biographer’s Guide were all written and divided up in various parts within scrivener. It’s served me well overall, but exporting to a useful format has been painful.

For layout, I’ve been using Scribus, but it’s also a pain in the butt- it doesn’t really play well with the editing process- it’s a very manual process to get your text in, formatted, and aligned. The combination of these two tools are awkward at best and infuriating at worst.

Biographer's Guide Relationships

One of the key features of The Biographer’s Guide is the web of relationships that tie everyone together. Only three NPCs have no connections to others in the book- everyone else is connected to several other NPCs. Here’s a quick look at the 130 relationships that you’ll find.

Biographer's Guide Occupations

Occupation is one of the many pieces of information each character has in the Biographer’s Guide. While normalizing entries in the second draft, I collected the list of those occupations to share. There’s currently over 150, and keep in mind that some individuals have more than one occupation.

Second Draft Progress

I’ve finished the first round of edits on the second draft- 147 pages printed, corrected, and inserted back into scrivener. Now comes the difficult part- data normalization.
For Example: Each NPC has 3 or more associates that can be found elsewhere in the book- for some (like a certain gnollish spy), this is easy- others are much more difficult. Now I have to circle back and update 40 or so NPCs which are lacking associates.

Indiegogo Video and Campaign coming along

I’m going to be otherwise occupied for the next few days but wanted to give a status update. Steven provided a quick video for the indiegogo campaign- I was able to insert it into the kdenlive project without much hassle (as well as his artwork) and it looks pretty decent. Next week I’d like to re-record my section of the video to be a little better quality.
I was able to get the indiegogo campaign updated with the artwork- it’s pretty close to ready.

First Portraits!

Things just got a whole lot more real. Few have ventured into the darkness; those with the skill and luck to return have told tales of horrible and bizarre creatures, arcane mysteries, ancient architecture, and unfathomable riches awaiting any bold enough to seek them out.
This tome, while incomplete, is a compilation of details provided by explorers who braved the darkness and returned.

Player's Guide

Two hundred years ago, the surface world was burned away in an event known as The Calamity.
